I am so excited about this post because creating these DIY Bridesmaid proposal boxes was so fun! I knew I wanted to send my bridesmaids something special to ask them to stand by me on my wedding day. I am obsessed with DIY Bridesmaid proposal boxes so I went to Pinterest to get some inspiration. Of course sticking to my budget-friendly mindset, I didn’t want to get too crazy with these boxes since I can only give 2 of them in person and need to mail the remaining 4, which will be expensive. Plus, I am planning on getting all the girls silk robes from Etsy to get ready in on the big day!
I started by ordering these adorable stickers on Amazon. They came in a pack of 7, including 6 ‘Will you be my bridesmaid’ stickers and 1 “Will you be my Maid of Honor’ sticker. Originally, I wanted to stick them on the mini champagne bottles, but because they are designed for full sized wine bottles, unfortunately the stickers did not fit and it looked kind of ugly when I tried to cut them down. My sister (aka the Maid of Honor) had the idea of placing the stickers on top of the box instead, which turned out really cute! Luckily I had one extra sticker to test out how I wanted to incorporate it on the boxes!
Clearly, I went for a pink theme. One of the wedding colors will be pink and possibly the other gold. That is still TBD. I got the boxes from Michael’s and are actually designed to pack cupcakes. They were $8.99 for a pack of 3 and are the perfect size because everything fit and it doesn’t look like there is a ton of extra space. Plus, the box design is really cute!
I filled the boxes with shredded pink and white paper. I couldn’t find gold packing paper, so I opted for white and I think it turned out great! In each box I added a mini pink champagne bottle, a cute straw, pink nail polish, pink Starbursts, bubblegum, and some chocolate. The champagne was the most ‘expensive’ thing inside the box, which was only $11 for a pack of 4. I picked out 6 pink nail polishes from Sinful Colors for around $12, rather than Essie or OPI which would have cost $45. My mom already had cute paper straws, so I paired champagne with one to add a cute touch. I topped the boxes off with chocolate, bubblegum and Starbursts!
I love how my DIY bridesmaid proposal boxes turned out! I had researched what I wanted and so it was easy to pull them together. If you are okay spending a little more on your boxes, I love the idea of getting your bridesmaids candles, personalized jewelry, or a robe for the big day. But if you want to be a little more budget friendly, these boxes are perfect for you!
