I guess that now the overwhelming excitement of getting engaged has died down ever so slightly, I am now in full wedding planning mode for my upcoming wedding this year, and it is certainly a rollercoaster ride. There’s so much to think about when it comes to the big day, that there are likely to be things that many brides to be are going to forget. So I thought I would put together a quick check list of some of the common things that are forgotten, if anything, it may serve as a future reminder to myself.
You have the dress, but what about everything else?
Many brides place a lot of focus on the wedding dress, and why shouldn’t you? After all, the dress is such a big part of the day. But what about everything else? You have the jewelry to think about, the shoes that you want to wear. These are all important aspects, so looking at the iconic fashion designers out there and making informed choices in terms of the items you want to perfectly accessorize your wedding dress will help to capture the look you are hoping for.
The logistics of venues
Choosing your wedding venue or venues in some peoples cases is exciting, but you also need to think about the logistics. If your ceremony is in one place and your reception and party in another, then maybe you need to think about how you might get your guests from one place to the next. You might also need to think about where your guests might stay. Are the accommodation facilities at your venue, or are there hotels nearby? This is important for anyone who might be traveling to your wedding.
Wedding transport
There is so much to think about that often the little details can get forgotten and a big one is wedding transport. You need to have an idea of how you are getting from one place to another. Many brides get ready at their home, or choose a nice hotel somewhere, but it may not be the location of your wedding. There are some great wedding transport options to consider such as limousines, vintage cars or even more unique choices like a camper van. It would all depend on the theme of your wedding.
Getting those important RSVPs
Getting the invites out might be a high priority for you, but what about chasing up those RSVPs? It is important for you to get those back as soon as possible so that you can make further decisions down the line such as venue capacity, food options ad drink choices.
A theme for your day
Finally, thinking of a theme for the day might not be something you remember to do. And while it isn’t essential, many people like something to work towards in terms of decorations and style. It might just be a color that you want, or even a loose theme like a floral or taking the seasons into account. But it can really help shape the day, so don’t let it be an afterthought.
