I love wearning makeup, I love buying makeup, but sometimes it can be quite tedious to apply make up at 5:45am when I am getting ready for work. I have to cover up any blemishes, fill in those eyebrows, and add a little mascara to give the illusion I am awake. And even though during the week I don’t wear a lot of makeup, I always find myself at Sephora browsing through the new products that don’t make my wallet too happy.
Makeup is something that makes us feel confident. Whether you are like me and grew up watching beauty gurus on Youtube or interested in taking a course with our world is beauty it can be difficult to get it your makeup looking right everyday. In today’s post, I wanted to share a couple essential makeup hacks every girls should know:
Thicker Looking Lashes
Everyone wants those long, dark and thick lashes. However, not everyone is blessed with these naturally I have a ton of friends who try to use different techniques to get their lashes looking fuller and longer. The trick is instead of plopping on thick black eyeliner to add definition to your eyes, just use a dark brown eyeshadow and a thin brush. All you need to do is trace dark brown eyeshadow underneath your lashes onto the roots. This will instantly make your lashes seem thicker without too much hassle, and will give them a sexy smoky look too.
Teeth Whitening
Everyone wants pearly white teeth, but if you’re like me and drink a lot of coffee keeping your teeth perfectly white can be difficult to keep up on. But if you start incorporating teeth whitening into your routine, it will be easier to keep up. Different options to fit in every budget include using a whitening kit, professional teeth whitening or even natural remedies. A fun little trick is next next time you eat a banana, don’t throw the peel away. Use the inside of a banana peel to rub across on your teeth for 5-10 minutes. Then use a tooth brush and water to rinse and this will help naturally whiten your teeth. Another trick is you can also gargle coconut oil in your mouth for 10-20 minutes on and off in the evenings, which is also known as oil pulling.
Instant Matte Lipstick
There’s nothing more annoying than being out of town and completing your makeup look and wanting to finish off the look with a matte lipstick and realizing it is not. An easy way to turn a non-matte lipstick matte is to simply dust some translucent powder over your lips once you applied the lipstick.
Cancel Out Darkness And Redness
Everyone’s skin is a unique shade and there is no one who had a perfectly flawless skin. We all have a mix of red tones, dark tones and yellow tones on our skin which can be annoying when we apply makeup causing our skin to look uneven. What has worked for me is investing in color correcting primers. It might seem crazy to apply different color primers onto your face before using a foundation but it actually makes total sense. It works based on the color wheel and shows how one color can cancel out another on your skin. For example, if you have a lot of redness, green will cancel this out. If you have darkness under your eyes, orange will cancel it out. It allows you to cover any uneven skin tones and make your foundation look much more smooth and natural.
