I will be honest… lately I have been feeling stressed with the move to my new house, work and random things that shouldn’t get to me. We often think of stress being something that has impacts on us that are purely mental. For example, causing you to feel low, anxious or even impact your general confidence. But stress can have a physical impact as well. Feeling overly stressed might age you cause you to show signs of ageing sooner and overall impact your physical wellbeing.
Not just for my readers, but also for me, I wanted to share some tips on ways you can deal with the physical signs of stress.
Calm Yourself Down
Obviously, the easiest way to deal with the physical signs of stress would be to make sure that they never emerge in this first place. Easier said than done, am I right? However, there are lots of calming exercises that you can try. Breathing exercises, for instance, can be very beneficial. I use a mediation app when I am really feeling anxious to help control my anxious thoughts. By takng deep breaths, it helps regulates the amount of oxygen your brain receives, soothing both the mind and the body. It will stop you from feeling stressed and avoid the development of lines across your brow.
Another way to deal with stress is yoga. Yoga is beneficial as it helps your body and the mind at the same time. Combined with the right breathing exercises yoga can be beneficial for every area of your body and guarantee that you do not succumb to the pressure.
One of the main signs of stress is definitely wrinkles. Wrinkles will develop for a variety of reasons. For instance, if you head out in the sun without protection, it’s likely that you will develop more wrinkles than those that avoid burning themselves to a crisp in the summer. However, stress can also cause this problem. If you constantly frown, you might develop frown lines around your mouth. If you have already noticed lines developing on your forehead deep enough to hold a pack of cards, you might want to consider botox treatment, offered by companies like James Christian Cosmetics. With botox treatment, skin can be tightened up, erasing the lines on your face.
Sweet Dreams
You also need to think about the impact that sleep has on stress. A lack of sleep will result in higher levels of stress, but stress can also cause this issue. As such, you should first make sure that you are getting enough sleep. One of the ways to do this would be to write down your issues each night before bed. Subconsciously, you will be sending the message to yourself that the problems keeping you awake are dealt with.
You also need to think about the signs of a lack of sleep hat may already be apparent including baggy eyes. Luckily, a natural beauty treatment such as using chilled dampened tea bags over your eyes. Interestingly something like caffeine that you might be using to stay awake also causes those eye bags.
