Since we are home for the foreseeable future anyways, now is the perfect time to spend time tidying up your home. In today’s social distancing tips and tricks post, I wanted to share 10 areas you can tackle during this crazy time. Blast some of your favorite music and get to work!
#1: Purse
Mother, I am looking at you! I won’t lie, my purse also gets a tad bit cluttered as well so now is the perfect time to clean it out. And hey, you may even find some extra cash laying around.
#2: Spice Rack
It is easy for your spice rack to get a little out of control, especially if you stock up on Trader Joe’s spices like I do. Take some time and organize your spice rack and get rid of empty bottles, old spices, and maybe even alphabetize if you are feeling extra spicy;)
#3: Cleaning Products
We store a majority of our cleaning products under the kitchen sink along with plastic bags from the grocery store we use for Rex. I like to organize the products from most used up front to least used towards the back of the cabinet.
#4: Junk Drawer
I think every family has a junk drawer and it is a staple in any household. If you are feeling extra motivated and have some extra time, take it on!
#5: Sock Drawer
Get rid of those socks that always fall down and the lonely pairs that you haven’t been able to match for over a year.
#6: Fridge
Especially if you have more food in your fridge than usual, take time to clean it out and organize so perishables are used first. I have a feeling that during this time so much food will go to waste due to people hoarding more than just non-perishables.
#7: Makeup!
I try and organize and clean my makeup every couple of months. Take Chlorox wipes and clean surfaces and containers. Check out my post on how I organize my makeup vanity!
#8: Pantry
Similar to your fridge, take time to organize your pantry so you are using food with sooner expiration dates first. My pantry is pretty small so it is easy for things to get pushed back and forgotten about.
#9: Purge your Inbox! This one is for you, Paul..
Not related to your home, but still helpful! I think there are two types of people in the world: one who hates notifications and two who has 2654 emails in their inbox. Let’s clean it up, people!
#10: Utensil Drawer
I took on the utensil drawer about a month ago because it was to the point where it was getting difficult to close. Plus it was fairly quick to do!
