I always forget how much I value the time between Christmas and the New Year. I am fortunate that my company gives us Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day off. In addition, I had a few floating holiday PTO that expires at the end of this year so I took Monday-Wednesday of New Year’s week off. During these last two weeks of the year, I have plenty of time to recharge and relax, which is something I struggle with. Working fully remote is amazing, but it also has its cons. For example, resisting the urge to check work emails and Slack notifications on PTO while my office is a few steps from the living room is hard for me. Separating work and personal life as a remote worker is what I will continue working on in the New Year for the sake of my sanity. Anyway, enough with the mini vent, this isn’t what the post is about. Over the Christmas holiday, I whipped out my vlog camera and captured a few fun memories.
Even though my vlogs are probably not very exciting to the average Joe, I love filming and editing. Growing up, my family recorded a lot of our life and I think of my vlogs as this generation’s family home videos. I’ve been watching YouTube since I can remember, and these days I migrate towards the lifestyle YouTube vloggers. Obviously, I’m not trying to be the next LiFsTYle vLoGGer by any means. I make videos because I love capturing memories and I do it for myself and my family.
I’m hoping to film more this week and even when I return to work and get back to my normal routine. In the meantime, check out my Christmas vlog below!
