Hello Lovlies!
So my friend and I just found out her little sister Olivia has been making beauty and fashion videos on YouTube for almost a year. Her videos are so well done and she has amazing style and creativity. Once I found out, I immediately wanted to do a post about her! Y’all gotta check out her videos. This girl is going places. (Side note: when I was her age I was making newsletters about my stuffed animals).
I made my first video on September 1st, 2013 with my best friend. At first I didn’t make beauty videos, I made little skits that are EXTREMELY embarrassing.
Why did you decide to make beauty/fashion videos?
I ran into Bethany Mota’s channel one day and I fell in love with the idea of beauty videos! I decided to film a couple and realized it is WAY more fun than my other videos!
Is there a story behind your username?
There is not really a story… my username is OliviaHope which is my name.
Who are your favorite gurus to watch?
Bethany Mota, thisismileyandshell, and Alishamarie are my top three!
Have you made any friendships within the YouTube community?
I have a few! One girl I met is extremely sweet, and she even made a video about me! She told me I was her fashion inspiration, which is the sweetest thing anybody could say to me!
Where are your favorite places to shop?
I love Delia’s! They have the cutest graphic tees there! Charming Charlie’s is the cutest store EVER! Everything is color coordinated and they have the prettiest watches.
How did people you know react when they found out about your videos?
Actually nobody but my family knows about it. I want to tell my friends, but I haven’t found the right moment yet!
What is the one beauty product you can’t live without?
Mascara! My eyelashes are straight and short so I hate leaving the house without it on! The Falsies Volume Express is my favorite mascara.
What is your advice for girls who want to start making fashion/beauty videos?
I would say you have to have three things:
1. A pretty good camera. It doesn’t have to be extremely good quality, just better than a webcam. It wouldn’t suggest buying an amazing quality camera until you know you will be committed to YouTube.
2. Editing software. Cut out your “ums” and pauses! People will get bored and exit out of the video.
3. Be yourself! Have as much fun as you can with your videos! Don’t act like somebody different or try to copy people! Have fun!
