Hello Lovelies!
Meet the Blogger is back this week with one of my favorites, Dorothy from her blog Prep in Your Step! As a college student like me, I relate to a lot of Dorothy’s posts. She not only has adorable style, but she has so many helpful posts on great gift ideas, travel, and anything you would need to know before heading to college. Below is my interview with her! 1. Tell me about yourself
I am a rising college junior (ahh) studying Elementary Education at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. I grew up in Alabama and have always loved being by the water! I have the biggest sweet tooth and can’t consider a day being over until I’ve had a sweet treat after dinner. I am a perfectionist and adore organization. I am a strong believer in attitude and aesthetics and how a positive spin and a bit of design flair can completely transform a situation.
2. What got you interested in blogging?
Starting my sophomore year of high school I started reading blogs that I had discovered from Pinterest and was exposed to the blogging world. After a bit of time indulging in the various posts I discovered and establishing a few daily reads I was completely enthralled with the idea of blogging. Around Christmas time of my junior year of high school I decided to take the plunge and begin my own as a creative outlet from an otherwise hectic but routine schedule.
3. Describe your style in three words
Classic, Colorful, and Contemporary. It just so happens that the three I thought of were an alliteration, I guess it was just meant to be!
4. What are your favorite stores to shop at?
J.Crew Factory, Nordstrom, Tuckernuck and for home accents Design Darling.
5. Do you have any big plans for the future of your blog?
Nothing huge. I do have some fun blog posts on the horizon that I am very excited about including a few DIY posts and school related ones but nothing too major. I definitely hope to continue my blog for a long time to come seeing as it is something I adore doing!
6. What is one thing people don’t know about you?
I don’t really like bread. Most people think I am crazy when I admit this but it isn’t something I really enjoy plain. If there is something on the bread that makes it a bit better but rolls and biscuits just don’t do it for me. Also, I am not a fan of Sweet Tea and being from Alabama everyone finds that to be outrageous.
7. What is one thing you can’t survive college without?
I actually have 2. School wise definitely my planner! I would be lost without it! Secondly, my sound machine. I lived on a super heavily trafficked hall this past year with my sorority sisters so there never seemed to be much silence. That is all fun and games until you’re ready to go to sleep and everyone else is just kickstarting a dance party. During those times I was so thankful to be able to flip on my sound machine and fall asleep.
8. Do you have any advice for aspiring bloggers/fashionistas?
Be confident in all that you do. If someone else doesn’t approve of your blog (or outfit choice) kill them with kindness but continue to own your style, personality, and what you love!
