This post is a little different than what I normally do, but when I discovered this trick from my friend I had to share it with you all! I don’t know about you, but as an iPhone owner I think I have gone through at least ten chargers since I first got an iPhone in eighth grade. The cords are so flimsy and the wires get messed up so easily causing the charger to stop working. I absolutely hate it when my charger is breaking and I have to position my phone in just the right spot to make sure it is charging.
However, with just the spring from a ball point pen and about five minutes, you can reinforce your iPhone charger from breaking! Below are four easy steps to create an invincible charger!
1. Find an old pen you don’t want
Clean out your desk drawer and find a pen that is either out of ink or simply one you don’t want. Unscrew the middle part and retract the little spring that allows the pen to click up and down.
2. Stretch out the spring
Obviously the spring is going to be way too small right now to fit around your charger. Untwist and stretch it out so you can easily wrap it around the top portion of your charger.
3. Wrap the spring around the charger
Slowly start wrapping the spring around the charger until you make it all the way to the base of the part that you plug into your phone. It is a little tedious, but make sure you start 2-3 inches from the top of the charger and work your way up.
4. Viola!
Once your spring is completely around the cord your can tighten it up a little to make sure it isn’t sliding at all. Once to get to this point you are done! Now you don’t have to worry about bending your charger and worrying about the wires getting disconnected!
