1. Tell me a little about yourself
I was born and raised on the Central Coast in California and moved to Dallas, Texas about two years ago. I’m a full time working wife and mama to a two year old boy. I work at an engineering and insurance company by day and a blogger by night which keeps my schedule full! I’m a creative soul so blogging helps me to connect with my creative side.
2. How did you get interested in blogging?
Initially I started blogging as a way for my California family to hear about our daily life in Texas. I hate talking on the phone so it was a great way to stay in touch. The blog started out as more of a diary and has gradually grown into a fashion blog with personal touches mixed in.
3. Your love story is amazing! What is your best relationship advice?
3. Your love story is amazing! What is your best relationship advice?
Relationships are hard work and must continuously be maintained. It’s easy to get lazy but our marriage is our most important relationship and we make sure to keep each the priority. Our relationship started out long distance which really set the foundation for us. When all you can do is talk on the phone, you really get to know each other. Since then, we communicate about everything! Big or small, we discuss it. More importantly, we recognize how the other person communicates. We are so different but knowing each other’s communication styles really helps.
4. I love your style, what are your tips for snagging a good deal?
4. I love your style, what are your tips for snagging a good deal?
Thank you! I love the thrill of the hunt! There’s a coupon for everything these days so take advantage of that! A couple dollars here and there really add up. I almost never pay full price for anything. I love thrifting and love that items have a story behind them. I’ve found the best deals and items because I visit thrift stores often. Stuff go fast, so you have to act fast. I usually go about once a week, sometimes twice.
5. What is the best compliment you’ve received?
5. What is the best compliment you’ve received?
I’m tall–5’11”. When I was younger I used to be so self-conscious about it mostly because that was the first thing people would mention when they met me. “Wow, you’re so tall!” Now usually people will comment how they love my height and over time I’ve grown to love it as well. What used to be my biggest insecurity is now one of my favorite qualities.
6. How do you think your style has evolved/changed since the beginning of your blog?
Sometime I cringe when I look back in the early years of my blog. My style has definitely simplified. I steer more towards quality classic pieces than trends. Looking back I wore a lot of color. I need to incorporate more of that these days in my mostly neutral closet!
7. What is your favorite fall go-to look?

7. What is your favorite fall go-to look?
Boots, jeans, and an oversized cozy sweater. So simple and comfortable.
8. You balance a lot, what is your advice to staying on track and organized?
I’m a list maker. Sometimes I’ll put something I’ve finished on the list because I love the feeling of seeing things crossed out. I have lists on my phone, purse, at home. I love them. I also prioritize. My blog does not come first and it often takes the back seat to family and because of that, I don’t get burnt out. Sometimes I only get one or two posts out a week and I’m okay with that.
9. What is your advice for anyone thinking of starting a fashion-related blog?

9. What is your advice for anyone thinking of starting a fashion-related blog?
DO IT! It is so much fun and such a great creative outlet; you’ll never feel “ready” so just do it. I’ve met some great people, discovered amazing brands I probably never would have otherwise, and have learned so much about how to do business with people. Even if no one read my blog, I would still continue creating content because it’s been such a fun way to see how I’ve evolved and changed through the years.
