Raise your hand if your are a college student who has to spend her money on groceries, bills, gas, and you know, actually surviving (ME!). As much as I wish I could go bonkers on Valentine’s Day gifts and spoil every important person in my life with iPads, designer bags, and expensive perfumes, my bank account would have to disagree. I’ve seen so many gift guides with high end product suggestions, meanwhile I am sitting over here collecting quarters from my coin jar to go buy myself some candy #treatyourself. Sometimes the most memorable Valentine’s Day gifts are those that are sentimental… imagine that! This post is all about creating unique and personalized sentimental gifts for your special someone… whether that is a boyfriend, girlfriend, sister, mom, dog, it doesn’t matter!
#1: Mason Jar With Mini Valentines!
All you need for this is a mason jar, string or twine to add a cute touch, and pieces of different colored paper. Write out all the things you like/love about your special someone and fold them in half and stick them in the mason jar. Whoever you give this to will light up with they read all the big and little things you like about them. Add a finishing touch by tying cute string or twine around the rim of the jar!
#2: Alphabet Book of Your Relationship
Kinda sappy, but I am guilty of making one of these for my high school boyfriend. I got a mini scrapbook and took out the extra pages so there were 26! For A-Z I decorated the page with something that had some significance from our relationship that corresponded to that letter. Example: so you went to see Gone Girl on your first date and you kept the ticket stub. Decorate the “G” page with the ticket stub, a little blurb about that night (maybe your favorite memory from that evening), and anything extra you want to add. It is quite the project if you put effort in it, but they will LOVE it!
#3: 52 Reasons Why I Like You!
I had a college friend who made this for her boyfriend. She got a deck of cards, paper, binder rings and a glue stick and decorated each of the 52 cards with something she liked about her guy. Be creative and think outside of the box when you brainstorm what to put on the cards! Be funny, sappy, and cute.. it is up to you!
