As some of you already know from my after graduation post, I am moving to Denver, Colorado at the end of May to start a grown up job! Even though I am beyond excited to start this next chapter of my life, I am also a little nervous about making the move and finding Fun things to do in Denver. Last summer I was fortunate enough to live in Denver for an internship so I got a good feel for the Mile High City. Since last summer, I have made quite a few trips out there and each time my love for the city has grown. I even leased an AWESOME apartment within walking distance to downtown!
Because I still have two months until my move, I’ve been googling like a mad woman ‘Fun things to do in Denver’ to create a list of events I want to attend this summer (Colorado summers are amazing, by the way). I am excited to be part of Eventbrite’s Going Out More Often (GOMO) campaign, which is all about making the most of 2016 and as the name suggests, going out more! You’ve heard of the classic case of FOMO (fear of missing out)… well GOMO is all about moving away from materialism and toward experimentalism! Making the most of the city you live in to create memories with friends and family you won’t forget.
I want to make sure that even though I will be working long hours and #adulting, I still have fun and make the most of the amazing Colorado summers. Below is a list of all the events I want to attend:
Yoga Rocks the Park runs from Memorial Day weekend until mid-September so I definitely will have a free Saturday to get my butt to the park. Even though I am far from good at yoga, there’s something quite appealing about rolling around on a yoga mat learning new poses on a Saturday morning.
Just because I already have a job doesn’t mean I can’t network. Who knows where I will be in the next couple of years so it doesn’t hurt to build connections along the way. Plus, who doesn’t like appetizers and drinks after work?
Just hand me a taco and I am already happy. Top Taco 2016 brings together over 40 restaurants to compete for the the Top Taco title in the Creative Taco, Traditional Taco, and Vegetarian Taco. They also have margaritas PLUS beer, wine, and tequila samples. Sounds like an amazing Thursday night to me.
I’ve seen advertisements for bubble runs in other cities and they look AWESOME! My childhood dream of playing with enough bubbles to fill an entire street will finally come true. I will also be getting some exercise, which I will need after all the tacos I will consume at Top Taco 2016.
My apartment is pretty close to the Santa Fe art district in Denver so I am quite excited about First Friday Art Walks. The streets are shut down every first Friday of the month for art, food, culture, and of course wine. They even have a shuttle to get you to and from the art district.
If you are planning an event or even helping put one on, be sure to check out Eventbrite’s event management tool!
xoxo
