This afternoon my mom, dad, sister and I ventured to Old Sacramento, California for some sight seeing and exploring. We have been to Old Sacramento (or Old Sac as the locals call it) many times before but it had been a few years so we decided to hang out there for a couple of hours. If you are visiting the Sacramento area, be sure to check out Old Sacramento while you are here. The historic buildings and cobblestone streets are a fun blast from the past paired with quirky candy shops and fine dining. If you have a sweet tooth, you have to stop in Candy Heaven because you get 2 free samples and the employees will randomly hand out other sample including chocolate covered crickets! We always pick up atomic fire balls and root beer barrels for my dad!
Behind me is the Delta King! It is a docked riverboat that serves as a restaurant, hotel and theatre. My sister played Tiny Tim in the Christmas Carol play performed at the Delta King when she was younger.
Fun Fact: My dad actually helped remodel The Firehouse restaurant in Old Sacramento! My parents have gone there handful of times for their anniversary. On the weekends they are only open for dinner, so we had lunch at Ten 22. I had a caesar salad, my sister got the vegetable street tacos, my mom got the BBQ brisket sandwich and my dad got a turkey sandwich. Everything was delicious!
There is so much candy at Candy Heaven! Everything from oldies to classics!
