Raise your hand if you are excited for summer trips and warm weather! ME!!! I have my Bachelorette trip planned for June and couldn’t be more excited to spend time on a beach. If you are like me, then when it comes to packing for a summer trip, it isn’t always going to be the most fun thing to do. However, when done right, it can mean your vacation gets off to a good start and you’re not panicking that you’ve left anything important behind. Plus, when it comes to summer vacation beauty items, you don’t want to have the important things missing.
I always think it is a bit odd when women wear a full face of makeup on the beach or by the pool. Whenever I have done that in the past, I feel like my face is melting off. So here are some of the essentials to take on your summer vacation, to make your beauty regime fit for the heat and all that you’ll be getting up to.
Sunscreen
This is probably an obvious one, but you definitely need to take sunscreen with you on your vacation. It is a good idea to get one that is non-greasy and that lasts for quite a while, to ensure maximum coverage. If you like to have some coverage on your face because of acne, for example, then getting a light BB cream or tinted moisturizer with SPF does the trick.
Heated Eyelash Curler
Having to apply thick layers of mascara isn’t a good thing when you’re on vacation. It could run in the pool or get sweated off when you’re out and about. Except for when it makes more sense to wear it (like going out for dinner), then packing a heated eyelash curler can be a good idea. If you get the best heated eyelash curler that is out there, it will curl your lashes much better than a regular one would. You add some clear mascara if you feel that you need it too. Then you’re good to go.
Bronzer
If you want to have a sunkissed look each evening after a day being outdoors, then taking a bronzer with you can be a good idea. It can take the edge off any redness or sunburn, and give you a nice even tan and glow on your face and chest. The Hoola Bronzer from Benefit is one of the world’s best-sellers, and one of my absolute favorite bronzers out there.
Aloe Vera Gel
When you’ve been out in the sun, your skin needs some extra care as it can overheat and get sun damage. Aloe vera is one of the best things that you can use for sun-damaged skin, as well as a way to cool your skin. An easy tip is to put a bottle of aloe vera gel in a refrigerator before you go out, and then it will have an extra cooling effect on your skin when applied.
Bright Lip Color
Being on vacation is really a time where you can experiment with color a little more and try things that you might not normally. You might not feel comfortable wearing a bright lip shade to the office, but at the beach, why not? Dior has a new range of liquid lip colors that stay on all day, without transfer. So it can be a good idea if you’re going to be swimming and sipping pina coladas all day.
What are some of your favorite vacation beauty essentials?
