Comfort means something different to every one of us. But when we are living a life of stress, and we are incredibly busy, this idea of feeling comfortable can evade us. In my life it seems like some weeks I am constantly on the go, and view operating at 100 miles an hour, multitasking and taking the opportunity to relax and feel comfortable. Especially when the cold weather rolls around, I especially want to take a step back to get comfortable and relax. Below are a couple tips to get comfy this winter!
Physical Comfort
Physical comfort is all about one simple thing, stretching. Especially when it is cold outside, it’s amazing what a good stretch can do for us. Things like yoga or pilates are not only fantastic for your body, but it can reduce your stress infinitely.
A Comfortable Environment
There’s nothing quite like a fuzzy pair of slippers, but there are so many different things that we can use to get us into a mental state of comfort. There are numerous silk pajamas for women that aren’t just comfy, but they can be so relaxing and perfect for a lazy day at home. A comfortable environment isn’t just about the relaxing clothes you wear, but it’s about the bed you sleep in. It is important to have a good bed, which leads to resting and recharging.
Comfort In The Mind
The most difficult aspect of calming our mind down is switching off the constant internal chatter. It’s vital that, before we go to bed, that we do what is called a brain dump, where we get rid of all of the little thoughts in our minds so our brain can properly switch off. Especially on Sunday nights (cue the Sunday Scaries) I have so much going on in my head as I go into the next week. There’s a lot to be said for preparing your day the night before, and it’s not just in terms of laying out your clothes and preparing your lunch, but also getting your mind centered so you can tackle the day with productivity and energy. Visualization techniques are perfect for this. It gives you that chance to picture what you want to achieve with your day.
That idea of comfort is something we’ve all got an opinion on, but one thing we can all agree on, life is so difficult on occasion, that the idea of a comfort zone is notoriously hard to achieve. Instead, view it as a constant practice.
