This Christmas was mine and Paul’s first Christmas as a married couple. We did Thanksgiving with his family in Colorado this year, so we headed to California for Christmas with my side of the family. I was at my parent’s house for about a week and Paul ended up coming for 3 days in order to look after our new German Shepherd puppy, Rex. More details about our new pup to come!
Christmas at my parent’s house is always pretty low-key. We don’t have a huge extended family so we go to Christmas Eve mass and then a spaghetti dinner at my grandparents’ house. On Christmas, my parents host our grandparents and great-grandma at their house where we have a traditional Christmas meal and open presents. Of course, my sister and I do our traditional holiday pictures with our dog Jake. And this year, Paul got to be in them;)
My dress is from Rent the Runway and was super comfortable. No one wants to be wearing an uncomfortable outfit on Christmas after you stuff your face all day. I actually had a free Unlimited Rent the Runway membership for a month and really enjoyed it. The membership itself is a bit pricey, but I could see it being worth it if I had a super corporate job and needed to dress business professional and wanted to keep my outfits fresh. Rent the Runway also has amazing customer service, plus you can ship back your outfits for another round of clothes anytime. You receive a prepaid UPS label so once you are done with the clothes, just pack them back in the bag they arrived in and drop it off at a UPS drop box!
What did you all do for Christmas? It definitely snuck up on me and then was gone in a flash. Paul and I didn’t even decorate this year because we were busy with the wedding, honeymoon and then with our new puppy. But good news, Paul and I did some after Christmas shopping and bought a ton of holiday decorations on sale so we will be more than ready for next year!
