Before you get into this post and think: ‘wow this post is a little past due!’ Well I am not arguing! I recently purchased a new MacBook Air to replace my 2012 MacBook that was running on it’s last leg. That laptop was quite the trooper from the end of high school, through college and then 2.5 years after I graduated. However, it has been so slow the last year and a half it made me not want to blog. Plus, I didn’t want to do too much blogging on my work computer. Anyway, now that you are brought up to speed, in November Paul and I headed south to Guanacaste, Costa Rica for our Honeymoon. Now that I have a fully functioning computer, I wanted to share some of my tropical outfits I wore throughout our week in Costa Rica. In today’s post, I am sharing how I styled a Lulu’s watercolor floral skirt.
I bet a majority of people in the world agree that packing for a tropical destination is about 20x easier than packing for a cold weather destination. Not only are you able to pack way more, but the outfit ideas are endless. Leading up to this trip, I hadn’t purchased much beachwear in quite some time so I was excited to stock up my wardrobe. Towards the end of last summer and in the beginning of fall, a lot of stores like Lulus were having sales on their summer clothes. That is when I swooped up this floral watercolor wrap skirt. And good news for my readers, months later there are still some in stock and it is $19, which is even cheaper than when I purchased it!
I love wrap skirts because you can choose where on your waist/stomach you want to tie it. I know I was going to pair it with a white crop top so I tied the skirt right around my belly button.
Costa Rica was around 85-90 degrees and humid everyday so I stuck to loose clothing. The crop top and Lulu’s wrap skirt was perfect for dinner as it was cooling down, but airy enough because it was still very warm and humid outside
I paired my outfit with gladiator sandals and left my hair natural. There was no way my hair was going to stay straight or hold a curl in that weather, so I didn’t even bother!
I can’t wait until my next tropical vacation because nothing is better than being in the warm sun on a beach! Comment down below if you prefer a beach or mountain vacation!
