It’s okay to admit it. We all have something about ourselves that we’d rather change. We’re bombarded with images of perfectly sculpted perfection on a daily basis so it should come as no surprise that even the most naturally gorgeous of us might feel as though we’re in some way lacking. We may feel that we’re an inch too short or too tall. That our butt or boobs are too big or not big enough. That our hair or skin are never quite at their best. For most of these issues, however, there’s usually a pretty quick and easy way to conceal it. From contouring body wraps to butt kicking concealers, the fashion and beauty industry afford us no shortage of ways in which we can accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative.
Yet, for those of us who are less than enthusiastic about our noses, looking good can feel like an uphill struggle. Being unhappy with our noses is a very common psychological phenomenon. You can’t cover your nose up or pad it out and because it sits right at the front of your face it can feel as though there’s no escaping from it. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t options to help you to fall in love with your nose again…
Contouring
Makeup really is magical. It can help to transform your face by drawing attention towards your favorite parts while drawing it away from your less than flattering attributes. If you feel like your nose is too obtrusive maybe you need to fall in love with contouring. Check out this cool trick for making your nose look smaller, neater and less obvious with some creative contouring.
Considering a rhinoplasty? Take a look at the big picture first!
If you really, really aren’t happy with your nose, you should think long and hard before considering a rhinoplasty. Perhaps more than any other surgical procedure, a rhinoplasty lies at the interstice between science and art, and a great nose job requires a practiced hand and a keen eye. Take a look at a rhinoplasty surgery video to familiarize yourself with then procedure and learn what to expect in terms of cost, recovery time, scarring and pain management. Equip yourself with everything you need to make an informed choice.
Use your hair
One of the easiest ways in which to make your look more flattering for your nose is to use your hair to your advantage. Avoid bangs as these draw the gaze away from the eyes and towards the nose and makes the visible surface area of your face smaller (thereby making your nose look a little bigger). Instead, consider wearing your hair in a side parting as this will draw attention to the center of your face.
My eyes are up here!
Jeepers creepers, where d’you get those peepers? Your eyes are gorgeous and showing them off could help to draw attention away from your nose, making you feel more confident (and what’s sexier than confidence?). Use eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger or add a statement shadow for extra wow factor. Draw the eye with false lashes and ensure that your brow game is on point!
If you’re less than happy about your nose, there’s a solution to suit every budget.
