This past weekend I traveled to Boston, MA to visit one of my former roommates and friends. Friday was my birthday so I took the day off and hopped on a flight Thursday evening. Of course with my luck, my flight was delayed and I did not arrive until 1am Friday morning. Luckily it was only a 10 minute drive to my friend’s apartment in Revere, which is a beach town right outside of Boston. In today’s post, I am sharing an overview from my trip AND a link tot the vlog I made documenting my travels:
Tatte
On Friday morning after we got some rest from my flight delay, we got ready and headed to the T Train to explore the city. Tina had two bikes that are foldable, which makes commuting in the city easier. Once we got to Bowdin station, we unfolded our bikes and headed out to explore. We stopped at Tatte, which is a common bakery and cafe in Boston. We both got avocado toast with arugula and a poached egg. It was so good!
We had plans to kayak the Boston River, but as we were signing up we were told there was a Boston Public Health advisory for algae with e-coli present in the water. We weren’t sure how serious the threat was, so we decided let’s not risk it and continue exploring by bike instead.
We stopped by Time Out Market in the Fenway Park neighborhood, which is a really cool spot. It is brand new and used to be an old Sears! There are all types of food options and bars, so anyone can find something yummy to eat. Afterwards, we explored the Target and Quincy Market before heading back. We were hot and sweaty from biking all day!
Tina’s apartment is right next to Revere Beach and has amazing views. We hung out on the roof top after our day biking around the city. That evening, we got a little dressed up and headed to the Seaport district for dinner at Babbo Pizzeria e Enoteca. I had the gnocchi and it was amazing. Plus, our waiter gave us free wine and Tina arranged for a surprise birthday dessert!
On Saturday, we headed to the Boston Harbor Cruise and enjoyed a 90 minute cruise around the Boston Harbor. Tina and I got a little nauseous, but it wasn’t bad and we learned a lot about Boston’s history. To conclude the trip, we headed back to her apartment to spent the afternoon at Revere Beach and then enjoyed a yummy rib dinner from her Brother-in-law and sister!
I hope you enjoyed the condensed overview of my trip! If you are interested in my vlog, check it out below:
