Your skin changes with you as you age. From environmental damage to wrinkles, taking care of your skin is vital for a healthy, glowing complexion.
In this blog we take a look at three ages of skin care and how you can achieve the best you with some great products.
In Your Twenties
Young, carefree and prone to one or two blemishes as hangovers from your teenage years. The great thing is that your skin is elasticated and young enough to bounce back from the times you haven’t perhaps looked after it as you should.
There are two things to remember at this age: always take your makeup before heading to bed and start a great skin care routine now, it’s an investment in your skin health later down the line.
We recommend Avene and their beautiful Cleanance Mask to tackle oily t-zones with gentle exfoliation. Twice a week is sufficient for beautiful skin. The rest of the time, pick from Avene’s cleansing and moisturising range.

Thirties
This is where those habits you started forming in your twenties should really be paying off. Your well-hydrated skin means you’re not particularly prone to wrinkles forming but it might be time to swap your younger skin products for something with a few more peptides and active ingredients such as retinol.
The best advice we can give for you at this age is to make sure you’re drinking plenty of water to flush out toxins and avoid smoking. You should now always be buying products that contain sunscreen. Block out the harmful rays that can lead to some types of cancer and make skin age prematurely.
Forties
Still at the prime of your life, it’s time to give your skin some TLC with products such as inika. Keep up the great skin care routine and especially the sunscreen.
You might also want to think now about introducing a chemical peel into your weekly habits. This isn’t as scary as it sounds and simply works like an exfoliator to rid your face of dead skin and reveal plumper, more elasticated skin underneath.
You should also be thinking about upping your moisturising habits to combat the loss of elasticity in your skin as you head towards your fifties.
Whatever age you are and whatever your skin type, the big takeaway here is to introduce great habits from your twenties, if not younger, that last with you as you grow older. Taking makeup off at night is not only better for your skin and allows it to rejuvenate overnight, it also helps you avoid nasty eye infections from mascara left on for too long.
Start as you mean to go on and make sure you remain fresh and hydrated with great quality products and by drinking plenty of water.
From your twenties right through into your forties and beyond, age is just a number and your skin will stay young and fresh thanks to the careful attention you’ve paid to it. And our number one rule? Always wear sunscreen.
