On Sunday was mine and Paul’s 1-year wedding anniversary so we packed up for the weekend and headed to Winter Park, Colorado. In today’s post, I wanted to share some highlights from the weekend including my favorite spots in town. Also be sure to check out my vlog I made from the trip at the end of this post!
Winter Park Wintery
Located in Downtown Fraser is Winter Park Winery. We have been to WP 3 times now and this was the first time we ventured to the winery. It is truly a hidden gem. We did the tasting, which was $10 for 5 wines! You can also buy wine by the glass and bottles to take home.
Deno’s
If there is one restaurant you should try in Winter Park it is Deno’s. We make sure to go to Deno’s every time we are in town. They have a great happy hour from 4-6pm daily and delicious filets tips with blue cheese.
Hideaway Park Brewery
Hideaway Park Brewery is located right next to Deno’s on Main street and is a quaint spot to get some good brews. Paul enjoys the cream ale and although I don’t like beer, they now have a spiked seltzer that is pretty good!
Sharky’s
On Saturday we went to Sharky’s Eatery for brunch and overall it was good food… but a bit stressful. When we arrived we were seated right away but slowly more and more people showed up. The restaurant itself is tiny, so as you can imagine things got packed. Towards the end of my meal, I felt rushed like the people waiting for a table were starring at me wishing I was done quicker so they could be seated. I also want to point out that Sharky’s only accepts cash, check and Venmo. Keep that in mind if you are in the area looking for a breakfast spot.
Volario’s
Right by our condo is Volario’s, which is a Italian spot on Main Street! I’m so glad we ate here our second evening because it was amazing. Volario’s is more of a fancy option if you are looking for restaurants in Winter Park. We were stuffed after the charcuterie board, Brussel sprouts, bread, pasta dish and complimentary salted caramel cake they gave us for our anniversary.
Where we Stayed
One of our friends owns a condo up in Winter Park and was so kind to offer it to us for the weekend. It is a prime location, situated right behind downtown. We were able to walk to Deno’s, Hideaway Park Brewry and Volario’s. If you are interested in booking it for yourself, the owner has it listed during peak ski season on VRBO! Also, if you check out my vlog, I give a mini tour of the place!
