I am currently enjoying 2 weeks of FUN-employment before I start a new job and because I can’t keep still, I have been going on an organization-freenzy. It first started with our linen closet, where I threw away about 2 bags worth of junk. My next goal was to organize my makeup vanity, which I try and do about twice a year. It was definitely time to go through and throw away old make-up and also sanitize everything. As you can probably guess, having a white vanity means it shows EVERYTHING.
I got this vanity from Amazon and although it is geared more towards kids and teenagers, I really like it. Our bathroom is tiny so I needed a separate space to do makeup and get ready. On the right side of the vanity, I have a three drawer organizer where I keep hair tools and extra products. Also, peep the lovely trash can on top of the organizer because my dog will get into it if I leave it on the floor.
My number one pet peeve about this vanity is how dirty the top gets. I wipe it down at least twice a week to prevent it from staining. At IKEA there is a similar vanity with the option of purchasing a glass top piece, which would be a great way to keep it clean.
I store my everyday go-to products like foundations, concealer, mascara, and my eyebrow pencil on the top portion. I also keep my eyeshadow palettes on the left side in a separate organizer from The Container Store. On the right side, I store hair ties, bobby-pins and makeup brushes.
The front two drawers are small, but perfect for the amount of makeup I have. I purchased the organizer bins from Ross, which also help with keeping the actual vanity clean. In the left drawer, I store my bronzers, blushes, extra concealers, and face-powders. The right drawer has all my lip products including lipsticks, lipglosses, lip-liners and chapsticks.
On the top portion of the vanity there are two additional small drawers. I was able to get rid of a ton of products I have had since high-school so now the left drawer has my two highlighters and the right drawer a couple single eyeshadows and older eye-shadow palettes.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Be sure to comment below and let me know your make-up organization tips!
