If you missed yesterday’s post where I shared how I organized my make-up vanity be sure to check that out now! In today’s post, I am sharing the end results of my linen closet post organization-frenzy. I wish I snapped a ‘before’ picture, but I forgot so this will just have to do!
Okay, so I know it is not as organized as a Kardashian pantry, but I think I did pretty well considering my resources. I started off by going through all of our over the counter medicines we had stored in this closet. I’d say 75% had been expired for about 2 years so I began filling up garbage bags. It is amazing how much random other junk I found and thankfully, I am no where near a hoarder so I tossed A LOT!
This shelf is where we store our shower towels. There is only myself and my husband so I feel as though we have plenty (not pictured the additional two in the bathroom). Side note, a few of our towels (as you can see in this pic) and hand-towels have random bleach spots and I have no idea where they came from. We don’t use bleach on our towels so if someone knows what could be the source, please let me know.
I went to Ross and purchased these storage bins for all of our medications and products. Before, we had everything sprawled out on the shelf and it was stressful just looking at it. The left bin now contains feminine products and a couple beauty supplies. The right bin is where we now store all of our over-the-counter medications, Kleenex, band-aids, and other medical supplies. I also folded our hand-towels and wash-clothes on the right for easy access.
The next shelf contains another bin with additional dental products, shampoo and conditioner, sunscreen and bug replant. We also store our plethora of Bath and Body Works candles, an extra flashlight and leather couch wipes for our couch right outside the closet.
The bottom shelf and floor of the closet is boring, but I figured I would share anyways. The previous owners of our house left this giant carpet cleaner machine, which we have not used. Regardless, it is still stored in the closet for now along with carpet cleaner and old towels we use as rags. On the floor of the closet we have our stash of toilet paper and a set of flannel sheets.
I love getting into my organization-frenzy moods because I seriously get so much accomplished. I was able to clean out and organize this closet for a total of $5, which was the cost of the three storage bins… I consider that a success! If you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments below!
