I became a fan of Summer Friday’s when I was introduced to the CC Serum. Since then it has become a staple in my skincare routine and I have nothing but great things to say about it. For Christmas this year I asked for the Summer Friday’s Hydration Set. I was interested in trying out the Jet Lag mask, which I had heard a ton about. In addition to the Jet Lag mask, the set includes a full size CC Serum (which I was running low of) and a lip balm for $75 ($110 value). I love trying out smaller sizes of products I am interested in because I don’t feel guilty dropping a ton of money on a full size not knowing if I will like it or not.
If you don’t know already, Colorado winters are insanely dry. I’m talking itchy skin all over and the inside of your nose constantly in pain. It is safe to say I was excited to use the Jet Lag mask, which is supposed to be very hydrating. After I applied a small dollop to my cheeks and chin, my skin started to burn within 5 minutes. I didn’t think much of it until I looked in the mirror and my skin was bright red. It was also slightly warm so I decided let’s not risk a huge reaction and washed my face with water.
I googled my reaction and saw a few articles of others experiencing the same thing. I don’t consider myself to have extremely sensitive skin, but for some reason the Jet Lag mask did not mesh well. The CC Serum and lip balm are amazing though and I am glad I tried out the products through the Hydration Set rather than purchasing everything in full size.
I haven’t done a beauty review in awhile but I love trying new products and sharing my thoughts. Perhaps it’ll be a 2021 resolution to share more beauty favorites. In the meantime, Happy Holidays!
