I’m going to start by saying why didn’t I purchase a Peloton spintray sooner? Also I don’t think “spintray” is a word, but I’m going with it. Any way now that we put that out there, we can proceed. I am a self-proclaimed queen of efficiency whether it is at work or in my personal life, so this plastic addition to my Peloton is right up my alley. I featured the spintray in my WFH essentials posts, so I wanted to get a little deeper with you all and share all my thoughts about my newly purchased spintray.
And apologies for the less than ideal photo quality. The basement aesthetic isn’t the best for blog pictures.
This past 1+ year of working fully remote has allowed me more freedom to get things done during the day, whether that is a quick jaunt over to the grocery store or not having to take PTO to be home for a furniture delivery. I always try to maximize my day and obviously getting my work done is my first priority. I was recently thinking how great it would be to place my laptop on top of my Peloton to ride while I wrap up for the day or sit in on an all-company conference call. After unsuccessfully trying to DIY a desk by using packing tape and the lid of a storage box, I did a quick google and found there are products out there specifically designed for this #amazing #wow. I purchased my spintray off Amazon and it arrived a few short days later.
I was expecting clasps, clips and a couple minutes of fumbling around to figure out how to get the desk on to the bike. However, all I had to do was slip the small opening on the top of the desk onto the middle portion of the handles. This makes removing and adding the desk extremely easy. Additionally, my spintray came with two removable rubber drink holders, which you can use to put a coffee mug if you are feeling extra efficient. I worry about accidentally knocking over a mug onto all this expensive equipment so I still use the cup holders on the bike to store my water. Instead of storing coffee, I use the two rubber holders to securely rest my laptop. I have yet to try placing the laptop on the desk without the holders to see if it slips off, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.
My overall recommendation if you didn’t guess is that this product is 10/10. I don’t ride and work while I am leading/participating in calls or heads down working on a project. That would be awkward and/or uncomfortable. But if I have an hour or so left in the day and I am wrapping up a few loose ends or it is a slow Friday afternoon, this is perfect to get some work done and get a little exercise while I am at it.
If you have a Peloton or even a “Feloton” and want a spintray for yourself, check out this one for purchase!
