I am so excited to post another travel vlog! The last one I posted was back in April when we got back from Vegas for a long weekend of golf. Since then we have gone on a few long weekend trips, but this was the only time I figured was worth vlogging. Recently, I was looking back at old YouTube videos and I think it is so fun to revisit old vacations. I came to the realization that my parents were OG vloggers back in the day because all of our vacations, sporting events, family get togethers, etc were captured on their video camera. My mom would then edit the footage into a digestible format and burn it to DVDs. I think it is funny how generational traditions come full circle and now we have an entire era of vlogging and people putting their lives YouTube.
Anyway, Paul and I have made it a yearly tradition to go to the mountains each anniversary. We are lucky enough to live in the Denver metro area so getting up to the mountains is a 1.5-2 hour drive, depending on traffic of course. During previous anniversary trips, we visited Winter Park and Aspen. This year we made the 1.5 hour drive to Vail, Colorado and stayed at the Arrabelle hotel. I have mentioned this previously, but because our anniversary falls during shoulder season in many ski towns, hotel rates are significantly cheaper. Although accommodations are cheaper, many attractions and restaurants are often closed, so it is important to do some research ahead of time. Paul had made a reservation at a restaurant in Vail Village and they called a few days later letting him know they were going to be closed the weekend we were there. We ended up making reservations for dinner at Yama Sushi and Slope Room each of the nights we were in town. For breakfast, our hotel fees included a buffet breakfast for the each of us both mornings of our stay. There is not an option to exclude the breakfast when booking your room, so I highly recommend eating at the restaurant each morning. Plus, the food was really good. We also ventured to Two Arrows Coffee + Bar in Vail Village both evenings after dinner. It is a low key bar at night and coffee shop by day. The cocktails were really good and although I didn’t get a chance to try a coffee drink, the menu looked amazing.
Other than eating, we got a couples massage at the hotel spa and drove around some of the nearby mountain towns. After dinner each night we concluded the evening with a trip to the hotel hot tub and then binged Netflix shows before bed. Overall, we had a great time in Vail and our stay at the Arrabelle was quite luxurious. Feel free to check out my vlog of the trip and comment down below if you have visited any of the Colorado ski towns.
PS – stayed tuned for some more travel content coming to the blog very soon! Paul and I will be heading somewhere tropical and I cannot wait to vlog the trip.
