I think this will be my first breakfast recipe here on Miss Olivia Says and what is a better inaugural breakfast recipe, than the most basic food: avocado toast. I don’t eat breakfast most days, but on the weekends Paul and I will sometimes prepare a yummy brunch at home. I like to coin myself at the avocado toast connoisseur and have perfected this delicacy over the years. I’m half kidding, but I will say, avocado toast is easy to make and you can mix it up based on what you have in the kitchen. In today’s post, I am sharing my loaded avocado toast recipe:
Ingredients:
- Sourdough bread – toasted
- Arugula
- 1-2 eggs – over medium (I like to do one egg and have one piece of toast with egg and the other without)
- 1 avocado
- 1 table spoon of lime juice
- Feta cheese
- Garlic salt
- Pepper
- Red chili flakes
- Optional: hot sauce
Instructions
- Mash the avocado in a bowl and add lime juice, chili flakes, garlic salt, and pepper. Mix together and sit aside.
- Meanwhile, cook your egg as desired.
- Assemble toasted sourdough with avocado spread, arugula, feta, and egg.
- Optional: Top with your favorite hot sauce and enjoy!
