I am officially on PTO until January 3rd, which means I am bored out of my mind. We have holiday plans over the next few days, but until then, I am trying to be productive and enjoy my time off. A little fun fact about me is it is hard for me to relax and do nothing all day. To top it off, Colorado was hit with a winter storm, so as I am typing, it is -4 Fahrenheit. The frigid weather clearly reduces the amount of fun activities we can do on our day off, so I figured now is the best time to do my 2022 highlight reel. Last year, when Paul and I were sick over the holidays, I went on a blogging frenzy and created my 2021 highlight reel. It was the first time I recapped my year on the blog and thought it was so fun to look back on what I did. PSA: This post is more so for me to look back on, but if you are interested, feel free to keeping on reading!
January: Similarly to January 2021, I started the year strong with a lot of food-related blog posts. When it gets dark early and it’s freezing here in Colorado, there really isn’t much to do after work besides cook a yummy meal. We also restarted our monthly ‘Dinner Club’ with two other couples. It is always difficult to coordinate an evening out during the holidays with everyone’s crazy schedules so we took a two month hiatus at the end of January.
Check out some of my favorite recipes from January: here, here, and here.
February: I joined FashionPass this month and sported my first rental to Valentine’s Day dinner (check out my honest review of the clothing rental subscription service). Paul and I went to dinner in the Highlands where we enjoyed margaritas and oysters. We also had brunch at my parent’s house, which if I remember correctly, was a delayed birthday celebration for my mom and sister. They were sick over their January birthdays, so we pushed out the festivities.
March: Golf resumed this month after a snowy and long winter. There were still quite a few snow days and cold weather before our summer golf season picked up, but it was fun getting out on the course. We had another night out with Dinner Club and I wore an outfit from FashionPass. I managed to take some semi-nice pictures, which in turn, I used to update my LinkedIn profile. I also shared one of my all time favorite salads on the blog, buffalo chicken and blue cheese.
April: This month was busy and started off in Tucson, Arizona where I was traveling for a work event (check out my travel review of the Graduate Hotel). Shortly after I returned home from Arizona, we packed up and headed to Las Vegas with another couple. We stayed at the Bellagio and had a great time enjoying yummy food, relaxing, and golfing (Las Vegas recap). April wrapped up with a new refrigerator, a delicious Easter dinner at my parents house, and birthday dinner for one of our good friends at Wildflower in the Highlands (such a great restaurant). I also shared my all time favorite chili recipe.
May: We had two lovely Mother’s Day celebrations for my mom and Paul’s mom before heading to Palms Springs for a long weekend. We entertained our friends visiting from out of town and I also traveled to Minneapolis for an overnight work trip. We wrapped up the month with a birthday/Memorial day party for Paul. My golf-themed cupcakes turned out great. And as usual, when the weather starts getting nice, the blog posts decrease. I managed to share our favorite spicy margarita recipe that we found from our Vegas trip in April.
June: We celebrated Father’s Day on the golf course with my dad, sister, and Paul. That round was quite memorable and one of my best rounds to date. I think I shot in the low 80s, which is rare for me. My college roommate all four years/good friend visited me and Paul with her boyfriend. We all went to the USWNT soccer game with my sister and had a blast. I have been wanting to go to a game for years! The month concluded with a work trip to Portland and zero blog posts.
July: It was a busy month filled with travel, golf, and my birthday. I came home from my Portland work trip and immediately left for Charleston for my friend’s bachelorette trip. When I got home, I had the member-member golf tournament at our course but my friend who I was supposed to play with got sick. I ended up finding another partner last minute and we didn’t get last place! We headed to Cape San Blas, Florida for a week with Paul’s family where we spent a lot of time building sand castles and enjoying the sun. The month concluded with celebrating my birthday with Dinner Club. Also, somewhere during July I had my best 9 holes of golf!
August: We had a great month traveling to Hawaii with my family. I looked back on my August pictures and my camera roll is 95% Hawaii content with some photos of Rex sprinkled in. If you missed out on the Kauai travel content, I linked my vlogs and blog posts below:

September: Things settled down from a busy summer full of travel. Paul on the other hand had a few more trips planned, so this month was a lot of solo time with with Rex. Over Labor Day weekend, I had a relaxing few days and went to brunch in Golden with my sister. During September I also traveled to St. Louis for a work event, which wasn’t very exciting. And finally, Rex turned four years old so of course I had to make him a cake. The highlight of the month was our basement project finally concluding. After 16 weeks, we had a fully furnished basement ready to enjoy (check out my basement blog post).
October: The hustle and bustle picked back up in October and started with a work trip to San Francisco. I also got promoted at work, which was a great accomplishment. I really enjoy my job and company, so it was amazing seeing my hard work pay off. When I returned, we put our game faces on and won first place in the consolidation bracket for couples match play. I also had a fun fall photoshoot with my friends and finally updated my blog profile image to a picture that isn’t 10+ years old. And finally, the month wrapped up with a trip to Palm Springs for our friends’ wedding, where we were both in the bridal party. The wedding was beautiful and we even managed to play some more golf before heading home.
November: Things didn’t slow down once we returned from Palm Springs, because two days later, I hopped on a plane to New York City. I headed to the Big Apple for a work trip and brought along one of my friends, which was so fun (check out my recap post here). Paul and I had a relaxing weekend at home before before driving to Breckenridge for a delayed anniversary celebration (vlog and hotel review). The party didn’t stop there. After hosting Paul’s family for Thanksgiving, we woke up the next morning and went to Cabo for a week of sunshine and relaxation.

December: After 11 months of travel, golf, work, stress, fun, and every other emotion, December has been a nice break. We went to a few holiday parties, hung out with friends, and relaxed at home with Rex. Our Christmas plans include Christmas Eve with my parents and then we’ll be splitting up Christmas Day between Paul’s family and my family. I am hoping I can chill out and enjoy the quiet before jumping right back into reality after the New Year. And with that, I conclude my 2022 highlight reel. If you made it this far, congrats! I’m not sure what other content I will have between now and January, so until I see you again…
