Paul and I headed to the mountains for our annual anniversary weekend trip. We have been to Vail for anniversary weekend before, but at this point (6 years later), we’ve hit all the relatively close mountain towns and decided it was time for a repeat. We stayed at the Arrabelle Hotel three years ago (throwback blog post here) and although it was a beautiful stay and we’d absolutely stay there again, we decided to use some of our credit card points and book the Four Seasons Vail.
Important side note: You will not find us at the Four Seasons during peak season (we’re talking $1500/night rooms), but during shoulder season and with awesome Chase perks, we scored ourselves a deal. We cashed in points to cover our stay, and by using the Chase Sapphire card, we received $30 per day per person credit for breakfast, an upgraded room, and $100 credit towards the hotel restaurant or spa.
In addition to this travel review blog post, I vlogged our weekend! I am still editing the footage, but that will be up on the blog soon-ish 😉
First Impressions:
The property itself is beautiful and almost camouflages itself into the rest of Vail Village. Conveniently located directly off of I-70 (but not close enough to hear highway noise), the Four Seasons is easy to get in and out of. Upon arrival, we left our car and bags with the valet and headed to the lobby for check-in. They provided welcome drinks (peach tea with or without whiskey), while Paul got our keys. We arrived an hour or so before check-in time, but they were able to get us into our room early, which is likely more common during off season. About 5-minutes after we got into our room, our bags arrived, which is probably record timing for any other hotel we’ve stayed at.
Our Room:
Our room was very spacious, clean, and there were two bottles of fancy water and a fruit plate waiting for us. The bath tub leaked (we can’t travel without encountering a leaky bathroom) and the toilet made a loud running noises every 15 minutes or so, but other than that there weren’t any concerns with the room.
The fireplace was such a nice touch, and I bet it is extra nice when it is freezing and snowing outside. We had the fireplace running each morning, which created a nice ambiance. Each room also has a deck, but the only downside is if any neighboring rooms are using their deck, you’ll be up close and personal.
Amenities:
The Four Seasons has a large pool, multiple hot tubs, a state of the art workout room, and game room. There is a cafe and onsite restaurant (Tavernetta is opening in the winter of 2024/2025, which will be a huge hit). The in-room dining is pretty good and very punctual. We ordered breakfast both mornings and it was delivered right on time. The weekend concluded with the Four Seasons Vail signature Haute Chocolate, which is a staple is you’re in town.
A huge plus to the Four Seasons is the location itself. It is a few minute walk into Vail Village, where a majority of the restaurants and shops are located. There is also a courtesy shuttle that will drop you off wherever you need to go and even a car that you can rent on a first come first serve basis.
Overall thoughts:
The Four Seasons brand is known for being classy and pricey. I don’t think we’ll stay in too many Four Seasons properties in our lifetime, so it was such a treat to visit the Vail location for the weekend. The staff was attentive, friendly, and overall it was a great stay.
